Boys and Girls Team Both Win District Championship!

 

The Webber girls and boys track teams both won the district championship last Thursday.  The girls blew out the competition, winning the track meet handily.  The second place team was almost 100 points behind Webber.  The boys team won in a much more closely contested battle, beating runner up Preston by 13 points. 

 

The following were the track athletes who scored points for Webber in the district meet:

 

For the girls:

Madison Williams:  4 first place finishes!  She won the 100m, 200m, 200m hurdles, and the long jump.

Gabbie McDonald:  2 first place finishes!  She won the shot put and the discus.  Gabbie broke her own school record in the shot put. 

Victoria Graham had 2 first place finishes.  She won both the 100m hurdles and the high jump.

The girls 400m relay and 800m medley relay both took first place.  The 400m relay team was Tessa Dawson, Kendall Furrow, Kennedy Newton, and Adelin Gonzales.  The 800m medley relay team was Kendall Furrow, Tessa Dawson, Kennedy Newton, and Sabrina Mike.

Cassidy Noeldner was first in the triple jump and 4th in the 200m hurdles.

Kennedy Newton was second in the long jump and 4th in the 100m.

Adelin Gonzales was second the the triple jump.

Riley Ostler was 3rd in the 200m hurdles, 5th in the 100m hurdles, and 7th in the triple jump.

Lydia Dawson was 3rd in the 100m hurdles and 7th in the high jump.

Madi Burt was 4th in the 400m.

Sabrina Mike was 5th in the 400m.

Alexia Tapia was 5th in the 800m.

Carmella Wright was 6th in the 1600m.

Anna Holland was 3rd in the shot put and 5th in the discus.

Abby Harpman was 5th in the shot put and 6th in the discus.

 

For the boys:

Dylan Myers-Quayenortey:  3 first place finishes!  Dylan won the 100m hurdles, 200m hurdles, and the 200m.  Dylan also finished 5th in the 100m.  Dylan also broke his school record in the 200m hurdles.

The boys 1600m relay team finished in first place and smashed the Webber school record by almost 5 seconds!  The 1600m relay team was Ryan Thompson, Max Poduska, Jordan Naumberg, and Jose Villalpando.

Spencer Lovell finished first in the shot put and second in the discus.

Jordan Naumberg was second in the long jump, 4th in the 400m, and 6th in the 200m.

Ryan Thompson was second in the 800m.

Zach Hupfer was second in the 1600m and 6th in the 800m.

Blake Dale was third in the shot put and 7th in the high jump.

Jose Villalpando was third in the 400m.

The boys 400m relay team of Tony Yuan, Jose Villalpando, Davis McDade, and Blake Dale finished in 4th place.

Max Poduska was 6th in the 400m and 7th in the 200m hurdles.

Chandler Bell was 6th in the triple jump.

Noah Lovell was 5th in the discus.

Bryce Pietenpol was 7th in the 1600m and 8th in the 800m.

 

Congratulations to all members of the Webber track team who participated in the district meet!  All students who were on the track team need to turn in their clean uniforms to Mr. Long in the gym after school today.  Ribbons will be handed out after school today as well.  Special thanks to Mr. Saint and Mr. Morris for running the triple jump.
